Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Indulge Right Foods (IRF) good for me?
Simply put, sugar is the leading cause of obesity, inflammation, and most diseases. It is also the hardest ingredient to replace in baking and candy making, without sacrificing on flavors and causing and/or contributing to an unpleasant aftertaste.
We are proud to say that we have developed a patent-pending combination of natural, plant-based sugar blends! These blends have solved all the culinary, nutritional, and health challenges, maintained the flavors, and increased beneficial and crucial prebiotic fibers. What’s the difference between carbs and net carbs?
The main difference between total carbs and net carbs is that total carbs include all the different types of carbs in a food: starches, dietary fiber, and naturally occurring sugars.
Net carbs only include carbs that the body can fully digest into glucose.
Calculating net carbs is easy! Just subtract the dietary fiber, sugar alcohol, and allulose from the total carbs
Is there any gluten in your products?
All of our products are free from gluten, wheat, corn, high fructose corn syrup, soy, peanuts, and of course sugar.
Your claim it’s sugar-free, yet the label shows 2 grams of sugar, is it really sugar-free?
Yes! The sugars are the naturally occurring sugars in the fruits, dairy, or dairy alternatives.
My caramel isn’t as smooth as it was when I first open the jar, what went wrong?
Nothing! This could happen. We don’t use any preservatives or additives in our caramels or sauces, so some granulation can naturally occur. It will dissolve if heated. Your jar of sauce is perfectly safe to consume.
What is inulin? Is it safe?
Inulin is a natural, nondigestible carbohydrate commonly found in plants- such as bananas, chicory roots, and sunchokes… to mention a few. Inulin’s unique molecular structure prevents it from being digested like a typical carbohydrate and reaches the colon largely intact and is responsible for its reduced caloric value and prebiotic dietary fiber benefits.
According to published studies, inulin promotes the growth of existing strains of beneficial bacteria in the colon and this is just one of its many benefits.
What is Erythritol? Is Erythritol safe for me and for my pets?
Erythritol is a sugar alcohol that is naturally found in fruit and some fermented foods. Industrially fermented from glucose, low caloric, and has a clean taste. Based on current research, erythritol has the lowest glycemic index (GI) of all sugar alcohols on the market. It is not fully digested in the body, with 90% eliminated through urination. Therefore, has no impact on blood sugar levels.
Unlike xylitol, erythritol is found to be safe for pets. (Please note: our products are intended for human consumption and not as pet food.)
What is Allulose?
We only use NON-GMO allulose. Allulose, also referred to as “rare sugar”, is found in maple syrup, figs, and raisins. It has a similar texture and sweetness to regular sugar, with only 10% of the calories.
Is Allulose safe for me? For my pets?
Yes, like Erythritol, it is safe for dogs. However, our products are intended for human consumption and not as pet food.
Do I need to refrigerate product after opening?
You can, especially in high-temperature climates that consistently exceed 90F. If refrigerated your caramel sauce will get thick and may get slightly grainy, but will melt when heated.
Do you use any GMO products?
Absolutely not! Every ingredient we use is certified NON-GMO.
Are they diabetic safe?
Yes, our caramel sauces have under 3 net carbs per serving and don’t affect blood glucose levels.
Can I microwave the sauce?
NOPE! It may change the structure of the sauce. If you need to soften the sauce, place the covered jar in a bowl of hot water and stir occasionally until desired consistency is obtained.
Does it have a cooling or unpleasant aftertaste like most other healthy sugars?
Nope! We often hear, “you can’t even tell it’s sugar-free”.
Does your product cause tummy issues, diarrhea bloating or gas?
Individuals with FORMAP intolerance are encouraged not to consume fermentable carbohydrates such as polyols (sugar alcohol), oligosaccharides (inulin), and disaccharides (allulose), along with a number of vegetables and fruits. Please consult with your physician.
While overconsuming high amounts of fiber might cause some digestive discomfort, introducing prebiotic fiber slowly, and increasing it gradually will allow your body to adapt with minimal side effects.
Unlike xylitol and maltitol, Erythritol does not have diuretic side effects.
Are your caramel based products good for your teeth?
According to published studies, erythritol-based products can reduce dental plaque, weight, dental plaque acids, and counts of streptococci mutans in saliva and dental plaque.
thers tend to hide behind labels. The front label tells a story filled with lots of promises, but the back of the label tells a completely different story.
